Accessibility statement
Last updated November 6, 2026
WheelPlaces is built by and for disabled people. The site itself should be as accessible as the places we list.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the whole site.
What we do
- Large, readable text (Atkinson Hyperlegible) and strong color contrast.
- Status is always shown with an icon and words, never color alone.
- Large touch targets and a clearly visible keyboard focus ring.
- Every page works with a keyboard and screen readers; there’s a “Skip to main content” link.
- Labeled form fields with clear error messages and an error summary.
- Reduced motion is respected if you turn it on in your device settings.
- The list view gives the same information as the map.
Known limitations
Interactive maps from third parties can be hard to use with some assistive technology. Every place on the map is also available in the list view.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on WheelPlaces is hard to use, please let us know through a question on any listing or see the FAQ. We treat accessibility problems with the site as bugs.
